Radio Aggregation Unit (RAU) is an entity introduced by different 5G standard drafts and its function is to connect multiple radios to a Baseband Unit and to serve as a time and latency critical data processing unit for the Remote Radio Heads. The functionality of the RAU is further defined by a functional split. Depending on the RAU functionality, the testing focuses on protocol pass-through or protocol conversion.
